In Chernivtsi measures against the entry of causative agent of African swine fever (ASF)

According to the information.and. the head of Department of Demirtzoglou in the city of Chernivtsi Irina Smolyak, in the city markets strengthened measures to prevent the introduction of the causative agent of African swine fever. In particular in all markets, which sold meat products and fresh meat, the management of the markets and laboratories will operate in emergency mode. Laboratory of veterinary-sanitary expertise in the markets work from 8 15. Market Directors and heads of laboratories will be on the seats prior to the closing of trade in meat pavilions. Background: since the beginning of 2012 in 17 regions of Ukraine has registered 68 cases of African swine fever. In 2016 11 cases: in Poltava, Odessa regions – three cases in Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, and Chernivtsi – in one case.
