Luck: can tourism make a better world!

This thesis was a cross-cutting thread of the International conference "destinations Branding: the key to building a successful reputation," which took place in Kyiv on 20-21 June. Participation in conference was accepted by the head of Department of development of tourism of Department of tourism and promotion of the city Catherine Telesca. How to create a positive country brand and to attract international tourists? As a newly created local communities to increase their own tourist attraction? These are extremely important topics were discussed during the two days, representatives from 10 countries shared their own experiences on branding. Ukraine for the first time hosted such a large-scale event of the tourism industry. The conference was organized by the Department of tourism and resorts of Ministry of economic development and trade of Ukraine in cooperation with the world tourism organization is a specialized Agency of the United Nations on tourism (UNWTO). On the first day of the event was held a master class for representatives of local Executive bodies and bodies of local self-government, which held That Banks, managing Director of the company "Yellow Emperor" and the author of the manual UNWTO Branding of destinations". He spoke about how to build a brand tourist destination, how to put it into practice, how to manage the brand, and what is the brand of the destination. During the second day you could hear about the impact of technological revolution on the development of the brand territory. One of the key events of the conference was the signing of the regional tourism organizations, alliances and Memorandum of understanding and the establishment of a National tourism organization. Pleased to note that in luck for the past half-year work of the Tourism Alliance, which will now become one of the members of this organization. Julia Klimenko underlined that tourism should become for Ukraine and the government of one of the drivers of small and medium business and Economics. The Deputy Minister said that in 2017 the budget includes about 22 million hryvnia to support the image of Ukraine, for participation in exhibitions. This program, which will focus exclusively on tourism. According to the Deputy Minister in Ukraine in 2013 was 25 million tourists. As at 12 million. So now the government are looking for ways to attract tourists. One of the main objectives is the liberalization of the visa regime. Deputy Prime Minister Ivanna klympush-Tsintsadze said that compared with 2013, the company halved the flow of tourists to Ukraine, which was the result of Russian aggression. In her opinion, Ukraine to the world has become a hot spot, and therefore it is extremely important to explain to our partners that, in fact, we are talking about a little more than 5% of the territories affected by war or annexation. The rest of the country is developing and waiting for guests. At the same time, we need to change the attitude towards tourism in the system of government from a secondary to a socially meaningful and highly economical “Tourism is not only the image but also a significant sector of the economy, which can ensure that one of the points of growth, which we are now so necessary,” — said Vice-Premier ' Prime Minister-“This industry should become a significant source of revenue for state and local budgets”. In turn, representatives from international tourism organizations, in particular, the General Secretary of the world tourism organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai and the representative of the European travel Commission Eduardo Santander said that believe in the promising future of tourism in Ukraine, even despite the conflict situation in the Donbass. The Secretary-General of the world Tourism Organization Taleb Rifai stressed that we are living through two revolutions: technology and tourism. Tourism in 1950 was 25 million; in 2015 — 1.2 billion tourists. In 2030 is expected to have 1.8 billion tourists. It is therefore important to have a bright brand of country and city, as competition for tourists increases every day. And this requires political will and unconditional belief in what we do.
