Zhytomyr: Malinin celebrated the feast of Midsummer
Buki village of Malyn district, the holiday of Ivan Kupala is still not lost its significance. Yesterday, July 5, residents of the village together with the head of Department of culture of regional state administration Yuriy Gradowski, Chairman of the Malyn district state administration Yuri Rudchenko took part in its celebration. This day is filled with rituals associated with water, fire and herbs: bonfires, wreaths, bathing. The holiday of Ivan Kupala in Beeches acquired regional status. This year participants of the festival were nine teams of the region. The guests of the ceremony were people's artist of Ukraine Anatoly Palamarenko, the Duo of Transcarpathia Volodymyr Kizilova and Natalia Galatine, creative youth, Zhytomyr College of culture and arts. I. Ogienko, children's folk dance group "Skyland" and the trio "Slavia" Malinskiy district house of culture. The main attribute of the celebration was a ceremonial tree – madder, and the ritual complex of the complement of the weaving of wreaths, driving round dances, kindling the fire and destruction of effigies.
