In Vinnytsia region is created ornithological reserve "Rate"
Bequeathed the area is a two channel ponds, separated by a dam, the adjacent slopes and a valley with springs and streams. Wetlands reserve is a place of stay and rest during migration, 47 species of birds. Of them under the protection of the Berne Convention is 46, Bonn – 11, Washington – 5. One species – the corncrake is included in Comprehensive red list of the International Union for conservation of nature. The small spotted eagle listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. Shores of reservoirs and adjacent slopes are covered with meadow-steppe vegetation. Many red-listed and regionally rare species: three kinds of dream big, meadow and opened; three of the males – Hungarian, seculity and marsh, spring Adonis, steppe cherry, feather hair. A unique complex of lizards: sand, viviparous, and green. Last listed in the Red book of Ukraine. The territory of the protected object from the areas to be removed will not, it has an area of 6.96 hectares. The reserve is a potential object for inclusion in the Emerald network in Ukraine. His status will allow to ensure the safety and efficient use of the natural wetland.
