All-Ukrainian festival "Cossack entertainments" and the holiday of Ivan Kupala in Chernihiv
6 July in the Central Park of culture and recreation of the city of Chernihiv held a citywide celebration of Midsummer and the continuation of the all-Ukrainian festival "Cossack entertainment". In the opening of the festival was attended by Deputy Chairman – head of regional state administration Natalia Romanova, Chernihiv mayor Vladislav Atroshenko and his Deputy Olga Honch, participating teams from twelve regions of Ukraine, Chernigov, and guests of the city. After the opening ceremony was a parade of participants, demonstration performances of representatives of the Federation of strongmen of Ukraine and competitions. As previously reported, on 5 July, the first day of the festival the security forces held two competitions: the "Chumaky" in which athletes had to move eight bags onto the cart, and "Log", during which the participants fifteen minutes had as much time to raise the beam, with the obligatory fixing them at arm's length. The finale of "Cossack entertainment" also consisted of two stages. First, the teams threw heavy deck (about 200 pounds) through the 4 barriers. And then there was a competition for the tug of war. Evaluated the results of the Deserved master of sports of Ukraine, three-time world champion in powerlifting CHernigovets Alexander Pecans and the world champion, repeated champion of Ukraine Sergey konushok. As a result of competitions, the absolute champion of the all-Ukrainian festival "Cossack entertainments" was the command of the Transcarpathian region. Second place went to the man in Volyn region, and the third - the athletes from Kharkiv. Immediately after the announcement of the results of the power competition in Central Park began the ritual action "This magical Midsummer night." Ritual group in Chernihiv Department of the Union of Ukrainian women performed Midsummer and modern Ukrainian songs, showed interesting theatrical performances. In addition, among those wishing the girls held contests: "the Best Midsummer Midsummer wreath 2016", "Miss Best Embroidery Midsummer 2016" and "Miss charm of Midsummer 2016". The winner of the best halo was Elena Efimenko, miss charm – Alla Kovtun, and in the competition of embroidery defeated Oksana Vajtsekhovich.
