In Zhytomyr region free lawyers made more than 1.5 thousand of acquittals
During operation of the system of free legal aid the lawyers in the courts has made almost 1 700 acquittals or closure of criminal proceedings for their clients. Since the start of the system BITD 153 thousand persons have received protection from the lawyers of the system of free secondary legal aid. 1 673 people received acquittals. More than 12 thousand people have not received the penalty of deprivation of liberty. In 99 % of cases, the lawyers appear to all detainees within the first 2 hours after treatment to Regional centers to provide free secondary legal aid. In addition, to open July 1, 2015 local centers for free secondary legal aid have addressed more than 100 thousand people of these issues: * registration of subsidies; * municipal issues; * social payments; * alimony; * the earth; * the legacy of the like. Half of those who applied to the centers low-income citizens, more than 40% with disabilities, almost 9 % of the participants of the ATO and other war veterans, about 3% are refugees and orphans. The results of the work in 2015, the Regional centre for the provision of BWPD in Zhytomyr region 1658 issued instructions to lawyers for the implementation of the protection of citizens in criminal proceedings. Thanks to the work of advocates in 2015, the courts issued 9 of acquittals in Ukraine, the number was 193. In September this initiative will be extended to the site of the liquidated district and city offices of justice of the Soviet model will be more than 400 legal aid Bureau. In the Zhytomyr region of such Bureau is 19. The staff of the Bureau will be engaged in the provision of free primary legal aid (legal advice), provision of access to free secondary legal aid (receiving complaints from citizens), and further represent the interests of clients in court, drafting legal documents, advising citizens and assistance in obtaining electronic services of the Ministry of justice.
