In Zhytomyr identified priority goals for sustainable development.

August 1, in Zhytomyr held a regional consultation on the adaptation and localization of the Agenda for development until 2030 17 the Goals of Sustainable Development in Ukraine. The event was attended by first Deputy Chairman of the regional Council Vladimir Shirma and representatives of the structural subdivisions of the regional state administration. The aim of the consultation is to raise awareness of representatives of public authorities, academic institutions, think tanks, non-governmental organizations about sustainable development Agenda for UN 2030, and the involvement of the parties to the process of adapting sustainable development Goals in the UN in the context of Ukraine. Van Nguyen, the Director of the office of the UN resident Coordinator in Ukraine, in his welcoming speech noted: "the new Agenda of Sustainable Development until 2030, 17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 indicators is not just a document on paper. Despite the fact that the Sustainable Development Goals not legally binding, the Government together with business circles and public sector must create conditions for full achievement of these goals." The global goal of sustainable development affect all areas of human life: Economics, humanitarian and social spheres (health, education, labor and social protection of the population, gender equality), development of agriculture, industry, ecology, and so on.
