In Chernihiv held public hearings
29 July in Chernihiv held a public hearing on the topic: "the construction of the memorial to the Defenders of Ukraine and the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and the approval of the project of reconstruction of the Park named after Bogdan Khmelnitsky". In the boardroom of the new York district in the city of Chernigov Council brought together more than 120 of Chernigov, who had come to Express their opinion on the submitted questions. The discussion was also attended by Chernihiv city Chairman Vladislav Atroshenko, the Vice mayor Olga Honch, Sergey Fesenko and Valery Bondarchuk. On the agenda were the following questions: 1. Determining the location of the Memorial to the Defenders of Ukraine and the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. 2. You can assign a new name of the square where will be located the memorial. 3. Defining architectural direction and requirements for the Memorial. 4. Determination of the amount of co-financing: budget – community (patrons). 5. Discussion and approval of the layout of the reconstruction of the Park named after Bogdan Khmelnitsky. In the beginning of the meeting to the memory of all the fallen defenders of Ukraine the participants observed a Minute of silence. After the election of the counting Commission, composed of 5 members of the public, proceeded to consider the first question regarding the location of the Memorial. Almost all the participants of the meeting supported the proposal that the future memorial at the square of Heavenly hundred Heroes will be on the spot where formerly stood the statue of Lenin. The community also decided on the name – "memorial to the Defenders of Ukraine". Name - the square of Heavenly hundred Heroes – I decided to leave, since none of the ten other suggested names received a majority of votes. Discussed, but not approved questions regarding architectural direction of the Memorial and the requirements to it, the proportionality of its co-financing and layout of the reconstruction of the square. .
