Chernihiv: the economic development Department of the regional state administration informs about the next Competition for grants
Department of economic development of the regional state administration announces the research grant for "Building the digital capacity of civil society". Embassy of the United States of America invites Ukrainian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and independent media – including print, radio, television and electronic media to submit project proposals for further development of freedom of information through social media, support the development and coordination of independent bloggers and/or promote digital development and build digital capacity of civil society in Ukraine. The selection of projects is based on the ability of the applicant to demonstrate concrete achievements that can show how the use of technology will affect the organization's mission and how an improved digital capacity and sustainable development will benefit the informational task of non-governmental organizations in Ukraine. Grants are provided on an ad hoc basis. Duration of the programs may be different depending on the proposals, but the duration of the funded project must not be longer than a year. A single grant will not exceed $ 50,000. The majority of the grants will be smaller; the average expected grant amount from $ 10,000 to $ 30,000. Deadline for applications: no later than 7 August 2016. Ukrainian state, regional or local governmental organizations, governmental media, as well as media owned by political parties, to participate in the program are not allowed. Universities can be partners of non-governmental organizations in the media project. From the organization may cast only one sentence. Application for participation in this contest or the receipt of funds therein does not deprive any of the organizations the right to participate in the competition for the receipt of other funds of the government of the United States. The grant program does not support advertising in Newspapers or paid publications; information leaflets NGOs; specialised publications, covering narrow professional issues and projects whose aim is to promote party politics. To be eligible for consideration in this competition, proposed project activities should address the following areas: - expansion of digital capacity: initiatives that build the digital capacity of the Ukrainian non-governmental organizations (NGOs); technology and civil society development: initiatives that will stimulate development, efficiency and sustainability of the third sector of Ukraine through the use of technology; new media within the traditional independent media initiatives that will stimulate development and efficiency in the use of traditional independent new media and social media; - Internet freedom: projects that work to protect freedom of expression, Association and Assembly in the online world; - public access to information: support for NGOs that provide information to the public with the aim of developing deeper skills and develop capacities in the field of social media, so that they could extend the reach of your target audience and deepen feedback; youth in social media: building capacity in social media among young Ukrainians. This activity must be associated with the work of civil society organizations, freedom of public information and the freedom of the Internet; - development and coordination of international bloggers: projects that contribute to the development and consolidation of votes of civil society online. - medarodnem: projects aimed at improving the ability of Ukrainians to take stock of their digital media channels for accuracy and impartiality of information coverage. Applications will be accepted only in electronic form. Applications in paper form will not be accepted. The application should be submitted in PDF format.
