In the Rivne region rescuers informed the journalists about the work during the summer fire season

11 August in the regional state administration held a press conference regarding the work of the relevant services and agencies to combat fires during the summer fire season. Journalists of local TV channels, radio stations, printed and online publications communicated the senior management of the regional offices of the SSES, emergency situations and civil protection of population regional state administration, forest and hunting management, environmental inspection and hydro. As the head of the regional center for Hydrometeorology Bogdan Masovets, this year's summer in the region has been quite hot and dry. For a long period of time, the temperature was kept at around 30 degrees, and on some days the thermometer showed +35. However, rainfall was only 64% of normal. All this contributed to the aggravation of the situation with the fire danger in the region. The Deputy chief of GU DSNS in Rivne region Oleg Panyukov has informed journalists that in spite of such weather conditions, thanks to the wide range of preventive and massively-R’snovalnik measures, the situation with fires in the area managed to keep control and even achieve a trend towards their reduction. So, as of today in Rivne region was 778 fires, during which discovered 18 dead people, including 3 children. Compared to the same period last year the number of fires has decreased by 22.6% and the number of fatalities decreased by almost half. According to Colonel Oleg Panuco, most fires during the summer period occurred in July and early August. On some days this period fire and rescue units were 10-15 times per night to go to the taming of fire. Most of these calls were for the fire of dead wood, litter and crop residues in an open area. The main causes of these fires was careless handling of citizens with open fires and uncontrolled stubble burning for farmland, the burning of garbage and dry grass near houses, in vacant lots, along roads. In turn, the Deputy head of the State ecological inspection region Sergey Paszkowski told the audience the media this summer on violators of fire safety requirements during the incineration of dead wood 21 imposed an administrative fine in the amount from 170 to 340 UAH. Further, the journalists were briefed by the acting’ligament of head of Department of forest and hunting economy Sergey Valinoti. In particular, he noted that in 2016 on the territory subordinated to the forest there was a 10-fires. Forces forest protection together with divisions of gschs all of these fires were timely liquidated with minimal losses. However, for rapid-response management of forest fires in the forestry enterprises of the region there are 17 fire stations and 123 points of concentration of fire equipment and inventory that are armed have 84 fire trucks, water pumps 75, 778 portable fire extinguishers, plows, cultivators, tractors and the like. Round the clock monitoring of the condition of fire safety of forests is carried out using 80 observation towers and masts. Separately, the Deputy head of Department concerning emergency situations and civil protection of population of regional state administration Vitaliy Demidov reminded the media that recently the regional state administration became to rescue Rivne modern quadcopter “PHANTOM 4" with high quality video camera. This device is essentially to help the lifeguards monitor the status of fire safety in forests and peat bogs, in order to timely and promptly respond to fire or emergency events and to prevent possible losses. In the end a press-conferences the Colonel of service of civil protection Oleg Panyukov through the journalists once again appealed to the public, land owners and forest users with the request to adhere to the rules of fire safety while staying in the forests and close to fields and peat bogs, not to burn dry vegetation in settlements, farmland and pastures.
