In Chernivtsi discussed the action plans for sustainable energy development and climate

10 August in Chernivtsi was held a seminar on the theme "Renewed "Covenant of mayors". Action plans for sustainable energy development and climate". The event was held in the framework of cooperation of Chernivtsi city Council with the project "energy Efficiency in communities". It is run by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. In the seminar took part: Deputy Director of the project "energy Efficiency in communities" Ima Khrenova-Shymkina, project consultants Bostan Crain, Dmitry Marusich. Project consultant Bostjan Krajnc in the presentation noted that the accession of the city to the above initiative provides: – the opportunity to be involved in the formation of EU policy in the field of climate and energy. – the best financial opportunities for your projects in the field of climate and energy. – quick access to advanced know-how and inspiring practical examples; – the high level of cooperation and support from national and international organizations. The second part of the project "to please of mayors – East" began in June 2016 and is in the planning stages for the next four years. Its mission is to help Ukrainian cities-signatories in attracting investments of international financial organizations for projects implementation in the framework of the action Plan for sustainable energy development. Representatives of Executive bodies of city Council, municipal enterprises of the city had the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the question regarding beginning July 5, the European Commission three prizes Horizon Prizes" to celebrate innovation and finding solutions to challenges in the energy sector: – Horizon Prize of 750 000 Euros – Fotoelectrico Dating history, regarding technical difficulties with the integration of photovoltaic energy sources in historic urban areas (Competition has already been announced and applications can be submitted until 26 September 2018) – Horizon Prize of 1 million Euro Hospital with low carbon emissions, contributing to finding solutions for 100% use of renewable energy sources to generate thermal and electric energy in the buildings of the hospitals. – Horizon Prize of 1.5 million Euros – re-using CO2, the celebration of innovative product development with re-use of carbon dioxide (CO2) that will make a significant contribution to reducing emissions. (The contest has already been announced and applications can be submitted until April 3, 2019) The seminar was a discussion on SEAP implementation city of Chernovtsy in the context of the updated concept of the Covenant of Mayors and the implementation of energy efficiency measures in public buildings and their ongoing operation.
