Protective plantation Railways in Zhytomyr identified 51 cases of illegal logging
From the beginning of the year within the Zhytomyr region in the protective plantation of regional branch "South-West railway" of PJSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" employees of the subordinate production units actual distance of protective afforestation identified 51 cases of illegal felling of trees in the amount of 1355 units. The volume of illegally felled trees is 1356,5 cubic meters, the damage done to the forest is about 8 million 898,043 thousand UAH. Identified illegal logging in the context of administrative districts: * Korostens'kyi district – 36 cases 952 felled tree; * Zhytomyr district – 4 cases, cut down 57 trees; * Luhyns'kyi district – 3 cases, cut down 104 trees; * Chernyakhovsky district – 2 cases, cut down 42 trees; * Berdichevsky district – 1 case, cut down 65 trees; * Olevskiy district – 1 case, cut down 62 trees; * Novohrad-Volyns'kyi district – 1 case, cut down 27 trees; * Polinsky district – 1 case, 24 felled tree; * Ovruch district – 1 case, cut down 12 trees; * Emilchinsky district – 1 case, cut down 10 trees. All cases of illegal tree felling in the protective plantations reported to local police departments. However, illegal cutting of trees in forest plantations of the railway continues.
