MES encourages educators and the public to join the discussion on the concept of a New Ukrainian school

The event was attended by the Minister of education and science of Ukraine Liliya Hrynevych, head of the Kyiv regional state administration Maksym Melnychuk, Deputy head of the Kyiv city state administration Anna Starostenko and President of the National Academy of pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine Vasyl Kremen. Communicating with teachers, Minister of education and science of Ukraine told about the main provisions of the concept of the New Ukrainian schools, in particular, key competencies for life, education partnerships and methods of motivating teachers and also called for a broad discussion of the concept. "In order for changes in the education system were supported by the whole country, they should be taken here, in the circle of teachers. That is why it is very important to hear Your opinions, Your warnings, questions, suggestions. Discussion of the concept will continue not only in such August councils of teachers, but also for the entire month of September in different formats – from pedagogical meetings in remote conferences. All are welcome to join this discussion to carefully and thoroughly work through changes that have long been waiting for our school," said Lilia Hrynevych. During communication with the teachers, the Minister also spoke about the structure of the new Ukrainian schools and explained that the 12-class General secondary school, most likely, will appear not earlier 2029/2030 school year. Chapter of the National Academy of pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine noted that the embodiment of the concept of the New Ukrainian schools should be based on modern pedagogical developments and to consider the challenges of a globalized world. "I want to emphasize that the responsibility for how the country would develop in the next 25 years, is already upon us. If for the previous quarter of a century the country built mainly those who were teaching Soviet teachers, now the great responsibility of the teacher of an independent Ukraine. we see that the reform of the education system is based on the principle of child-centrism, however, we should not forget that preparing a person to keenly competitive global world", – said Vasyl Kremen.
