Vaccines against tuberculosis and other required for children vaccines already available in Ukraine

25 August in Ukraine was delivered 2.5 million doses of vaccines against tuberculosis (BCG). This batch of vaccines purchased by the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) at the request of the Ministry of health in the framework of a comprehensive deal on international purchases. Previously, UNICEF had already acquired such vaccines as MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine against hepatitis B, DPT (against pertussis, diphtheria and tetanus), TD M (against diphtheria and tetanus for adults), TD (diphtheria and tetanus for children), a rabies vaccine and a vaccine bOPV (bivalent oral vaccine Polotno). All these vaccines included in national immunization schedule designed to protect children from dangerous diseases that can be prevented by vaccination. Vaccine and bOPV DTP will be introduced in the near future, and all the rest have already been delivered to Ukraine. The supply of BCG vaccine in the country will overcome its acute shortage and will create conditions for full implementation of the program of routine immunization in Ukraine. "During the current procurement cycle of the Ministry of health for three international organizations – UNICEF, UNDP, Crown Agents – purchased medicines and vaccines for a total sum more than 2,2 billion UAH", – said Vladimir.
