the world harmony run is an international relay, which is held with the aim of spreading the ideals of tolerance, friendship and harmonious coexistence of peoples in the world. Relay race – not a commercial project, it is not possible to support any political force. The participants will only offer goodwill to people around the world. A symbol of harmony and unity is the burning torch that runners pass each other from hand to hand. The world harmony run is held in more than 100 countries over the last 29 years. A participant of the relay can be any age and physical fitness do not matter! The Patriotic purpose of the relay is the desire to foster friendship and understanding between peoples. Anyone can carry the torch a few miles or a few steps along the torch relay route or just hold him with the idea of peace and harmony in the world. The world harmony run promotes a healthy lifestyle and social activity. Special attention is paid to engaging children, youth and young people to active physical training and sports. The organizers of the relay in the Ukraine is considered the goal of the mileage – establishment of friendly relations, mutual understanding and respect between people from different regions of the country. The relay started in Rivne on August 24, the Independence Day, its route runs by the Rivne, Ternopil, Bukovyna, the Uprising and Zhytomyr region to the border with Belarus. 6 November in Ovruch district will host a meeting with European international team, which the Ukrainians will follow within five days to the border with Moldova to Mogilev-Podolsky Vinnytsia region. In Ukraine it is planned to cover more than 1 500 km, the length of the run is 18 days. February 24 runners for the European team started in Porto, Portugal. The European part of the worldwide torch relay will cover 49 countries with a total route length of 24 000 km and finish on 8 October in the Italian capital Rome. In Ukraine, the world harmony run is held since 1991. During this time, the participants overcame more than 51000 km in all regions of our country. A burning torch held about 350 000 of our fellow citizens. The relay is organized by the international network of volunteers, which inspires a vision filled with harmony and peace of the world proposed the world-famous philanthropist Sri Chinmoy. In each country, the organizers have been working with local authorities and Executive authorities of different levels. The teams of the world run for the sake of harmony in the different countries included runners, who in everyday life do different things, but still find the opportunity of their time and energy to give the relay, because I feel and deeply believe that these efforts really strengthen the friendship between people, promote the harmonious relations between States and peoples. In Ukraine, support of the "world harmony run" from the authorities has become a tradition: this year, as in previous years, the relay is held with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Ministry of youth and sports and the network of centers of physical health of population "Sport for all".
