The arrangements for placement of mobile circuses which use in their activities of wild animals in the city of Lutsk were discussed at the meeting of the “round table”
the Deputy of the mayor Yury Molica said that more than six months ago started the regulatory procedure for the verification activities of circuses, which will be posted in the city. The relevant draft decision prepared for consideration at the meeting of the Executive Committee of the city Council. According to the Director KP “Weasel” Bogdan, Novarchuk, clear procedures for the verification of circuses and their documents not, and therefore undertook the solution of this problem. In the draft decision provided by the package of documents required for getting approval of city Council to host travelling circuses that use animal activity. Bogdan, Novarchuk noted that as previously, such documents were not submitted, then visit the circus can be dangerous to health and life. In addition, there is the factor of humanity, it is not known in what conditions animals are kept. She noted that in many countries, circuses using animals is prohibited, but there is a procedure when the city authority can make a decision within its competence and to ban their activities in the city. By the way, in Ukraine there are already several such cities. “We try in every city to impose certain rules and restrictions, but at the same time working on a bill to ban traveling circuses that use animals,” said Bogdan, Novarchuk. Yuri Molica noted that this is the right to the city trend, because in order to see the animals, you can visit the zoo where they are kept in proper conditions, and for the circuses also there is an alternative - clowns, acrobats, etc. “If perespective we ban circuses where animals are used — it will be safer for life and health of citizens, alternatively that is a significant step towards humanity”, - said Yuri Mollica.
