Chernigov joined the joint project "Open City: increased citizen participation in the development of local communities"
Chernihiv city Council signed a MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING between Chernihiv city Council, International charitable organization "East Europe Foundation" and NGO "Volunteer centre "UNITY" on cooperation in the framework of the joint project "Open City: increased citizen participation in the development of local communities" in Chernigov. The Memorandum was signed by Chernihiv city Rada the person of the mayor Vladislav Atroshenko,the international charitable organization "East Europe Foundation" in the person of the President Victor Liakh, the public organization "Volunteer center "UNITY" in the face of the head of the Yana manoylo. The platform "Open city" is a modern online service created for interaction between citizens, local authorities, utility companies, public associations, charitable foundations and business in the process of solving the pressing problems of society. This system will provide citizens the opportunity to draw attention to the urgent problems of the community and local authorities to respond quickly to these problems. Chernihiv city Chairman Vladislav Atroshenko expressed gratitude to all public organizations that help in establishing effective cooperation of citizens with local authorities to make the city more comfortable. This electronic system, joined Chernigov, the conviction of the mayor, is part of the process of implementing electronic document, instruments of e-democracy for the effective communication of the authorities and citizens. This is the element of way to make Chernihiv a more successful city. The President of the International charitable organization "East Europe Foundation Victor Liakh on behalf of the organization congratulated Chernihiv with the assistance of the project "Open city". Chernihiv became the 31st city that has joined this system. In his opinion, it is a good instrument for cooperation between the government and the society. According to him, European cities are already using the new technology of communication with citizens. Deputy mayor Oleksandr Lomako noted that the accession of Chernihiv to the platform "Open city" will allow city officials to track the problems that are bothering Chernigov, and will be more effective in its work. He also urged the community to cooperate actively, to make observations and constructive suggestions for more efficient solutions to the different problems of the city.
