In Chernihiv announced an open architectural competition to design the Memorial to the Defenders of Ukraine
the Executive Committee of the city Council at its meeting on 15 September adopted a decision to declare an open architectural competition for the best project proposal the construction of the Memorial to the Defenders of Ukraine. The decision was made taking into account the decisions of the public hearings of members of a territorial community on the topic: "the construction of the memorial to the Defenders of Ukraine and the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and the approval of the project of reconstruction of the Park named after Bogdan Khmelnitsky" of 29 July this year. The contest will run from 26 September 2016 24 January 2017. The Executive Board also approved the regulations on holding an open architectural competition for the best project proposal the construction of the Memorial to the Defenders of Ukraine and the jury. The competition aims to identify the best project proposal for the construction of the Memorial and the best performer for the further development and implementation of the project to perpetuate the memory of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes and the lost participants of anti-terrorist operation in the East of Ukraine. In addition, one of the objectives of the competition is reflected in the relevant spatial, technological, aesthetic, artistic media events of the Revolution of Dignity and the anti-terrorist operation in the East of Ukraine. One of the conditions is implementation of the elements of the Memorial of durable sustainable materials such as bronze, granite, other natural stone. The competition is open, without limiting the number of participants and is carried out in one stage. Participation in the competition is free of charge, registration fee participants of the contest are not paid. The number of competitive project proposals from the same author (group of authors) is not limited. Project proposals for the contest will be accepted from September 26 to December 26, 2016, and the results of the contest will take place until 10 January 2017. By results of competition the jury will make the decision regarding determination of the best project proposals. To celebrate propozitsiya selected three prize: 10000 (ten thousand) UAH; 6000 (six thousand) UAH; 4000 (four thousand) hryvnia. Financing of competition is carried out at the expense of the city budget. The contest period (from the date of the announcement until the publication of the results) are defined in accordance with the requirements of these Regulations (one month for the submission of applications for participation in the contest; two months for the development of competitive projects; two weeks to summarize the results of the contest and within one month of their promulgation). The customer of the competition is the Executive Committee of the Chernihiv city Council, and the organizer of competition – Department of architecture and urban planning of the Chernihiv city Council.
