In addition, in the framework of the visit the Chairman of the Vinnytsia regional state administration Valery Cow held official talks with the leadership of Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship, where the parties discussed the participation of Vinnytsia region in the European initiative Lagging Region. As reported by Volodymyr Merezhko: "the world Bank jointly with the European Commission began work on a new project aimed at maximising the impact of European structural and investment funds to the regions with low level of income called the Lagging Region. The pilot project will cover the regions of Romania and Poland, from Poland in the project will participate Sivinski and Subcarpathian Voivodeship. The aim of the project is the increase in the absorption and use of European Union funds and support socio-economic development at the local level," - said the official. Following the meeting, Marshal of Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship suggested Vinnytsia region to participate in this European initiative. As a result, the idea was to support the head of Vinnytsia regional state administration Valery Corum and providing an instruction to the relevant departments of the two regions in the shortest possible time to work out the plan of joint activities in the framework of the above initiatives.
