As reported by Volodymyr Merezhko: "the world Bank jointly with the European Commission began work on a new project aimed at maximising the impact of European structural and investment funds to the regions with low level of income called the Lagging Region. The pilot project will cover the regions of Romania and Poland, from Poland in the project will participate Sivinski and Subcarpathian Voivodeship. The aim of the project is the increase in the absorption and use of European Union funds and support socio-economic development at the local level," - said the official. Following the meeting, Marshal of Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship suggested Vinnytsia region to participate in this European initiative.
