Chernihiv: the mayor congratulated veterans on the occasion of Day of liberation of our city from the Nazi invaders

Chernihiv city Council held traditional meeting of the mayor Vladislav Atroshenko with veterans of the city. The event was held on the occasion of Day of liberation of our city from the Nazi invaders. Chernihiv city organization of veterans of Ukraine has more than 14 thousand veterans of war, labour, military service. All world war II veterans and labor veterans, partisans and underground fighters – this is a generation of heroes and winners. - Have those words of gratitude that can be expressed to us, the younger generation, the admiration of your life feat, your example – the mayor noted. Now the city is home to 402 Chernigov-combatants. Unfortunately, with us for only 4 veterans who liberated Chernigov in 1943: Irkha Nikolai Stepanovich Kuznetsov Nikolay Yakovlevich, Shtan'ko Ivan Pavlovich Vasil and Varvara Mikhailovna. All the combatants are the people who saved the country from Nazism. Each of them were awarded orders and medals. The mayor thanked the veterans for the wonderful city of Chernihiv that they picked it up from the ruins and built. Vladislav Atroshenko - " our generation is only beginning to build, and mostly enjoys the fact that you have built. Thank you for the city that we have. We try to keep the city as you gave it to us and we will make changes in the best." The mayor wished the veterans good health, inspiration and prosperity and handed them the awards. For veterans of the town held a gala children's concert.
