The ambulance is waiting for a system update: emergency medical service must provide adequately trained and certified professionals. “The first few minutes until assistance is critical. So the MINISTRY will take care not only about the reform of the labor brigades “fast”, but appropriate training for firefighters and police officers, which usually first appear on the site,” says Alexander Lynch. The courses will begin in the near future. Now the MINISTRY of health developing short-term (one month) training courses for paramedics with the participation of foreign teachers. On the system the change in the training of paramedics: the MINISTRY of health is developing a special 3-4 year old curriculum-undergraduate. At the briefing Dr. Lynch announced the 8 elements of the reform of emergency medical care. 1. specialized medical training for police officers and firefighters, who usually arrive first on the scene, so they need to acquire basic skills on rescue and life support before the ambulance; 2. improving the dispatch system, which will weed out non-core challenges will be to provide instant communication with the operator and sent to the scene near the carriage; 3. create a call center - free, confidential service that you can call for advice of the doctor concerning health or need information. 4. the expansion of substations, the location of which must come from the needs of the patient and conform to Western norms; 5. training for doctors and paramedics that will improve their practical skills and will bring assistance in the Western medical standards; 6. implementation of protocols for emergency care based on evidence-based medicine; 7. development of training programmes for specialists in pre-hospital care - paramedics and ambulance drivers (emergency medical technicians). Training of paramedics, is responsible for evaluating the patient's condition and providing necessary assistance at the scene and during transport to the hospital, will last 3 years and will amount to the level of a bachelor. The ambulance driver must be a full member of the medical team, and his training should last a minimum of 3 weeks and include both theoretical and practical parts; 8. build hospitals emergency departments (emergency) care, where the patient will be given first aid at the hospital stage. The new team of the Ministry of health, headed the VA. Minister Dr. Uliana Suprun plans to transfer the Ukrainian medicine for treatment according to Western standards. This should make the transition from medicine which is based on the authority (eminent based) evidence based medicine (evidence-based). The first step is the approval of the Western sources of the protocols. Ukrainian protocols contradict them. But in the world there are organizations, which monitor changes in science, the best methods of treatment and create a manual for the treatment of each disease. “In a situation when a patient asks why you gave me this pill, a doctor needs to say: "Because the best Protocol for most conclusive, of the highest quality, most recognized by the world, recommends to treat You this pill,” - said the Deputy Minister of health Alexander Lynch.
