On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the theologian Vinnitsa returned to the ownership of the religious community (+photos)
this Year on 9 October will be long remembered by the parishioners of the Church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the theologian Vinnitsa. Festive chime in this day gathered in the temple a lot of people. In particular, members of the clergy, the faithful, the public authorities, who arrived to share the joy of a triple celebration: feast day, the 100-year anniversary and the return of Church property of religious communities. The celebrations began with a festive Liturgy, which was headed by Metropolitan of Vinnitsa and Barsky Simeon and the Archbishop of Rovenky and Sverdlovsk Panteleimon. Later, with a welcoming speech to the participants addressed the honored guests – the representative of the Chairman of regional state administration in the regional Council Dmitry Chalenko, operating Affairs of Executive Committee of city Council Sergey Chernolutsky and the head of Department on nationalities and religions of the regional state administration Igor Saletsky. On behalf of the Chairman of the regional state administration Valery Cows representative of the Chairman of regional state administration in the regional Council Dmitry Chalenko presented the rector of the Church official documents, according to which the Church building is returned from state ownership to the ownership of the religious community. The state - said Dmitry Chalenko, is doing everything possible to quickly heal the wounds on the body of the Holy Church, which was done in Soviet times. This ancient Shrine,- he underlined, - after clear days of history, and in bad weather,is a talisman of our faith and spirituality the decoration of our region, and SN holiday is proof of that. For reference: Church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the theologian was built in 1916 by the project of Gregory Artynova. In the Soviet years, 4 years was used as a warehouse seed plant. After closing Brailovsky monastery (1960), was a religious education center in Vinnytsia, and the focus of monastic life (there have been ministering nuns of the monastery Brailovsky).
