In the Rivne region white cane day
on 15 October, the world celebrated white cane Day or the Day of the blind. The white stick has become not only the accessory device with self-orientation in space, but also a symbol of the blind and blindness. The unions of the blind trying to this day, along with a sighted person to undertake the relevant actions aimed at strengthening the integration of the blind into society. They try to interest the media, public opinion, to draw attention of power structures to their problems. On 12 October the Deputy Director of city employment center Svetlana Rotar and head of Department of interaction with employers Margaret lucyk visited the enterprise of Association of citizens – Rivne educational-production enterprise (UPP) of the Ukrainian blind society (UTOS) and talked to special people and handed to the Director of the enterprise Igor Pogranichnom Gratitude for the close cooperation with the employment service in the creation of temporary jobs to conduct temporary public works in the part of accompanying persons with visual impairments. The employment service does not remain aloof from the problems of people with visual impairments. Every month five of the unemployed carry out community work to support blind people. The leaders of the city employment center gave a summary of the unemployed with visual impairments that are eligible for the vacant positions. Not Exactly one hundred people - blind.
