Article 55 of the Law of Ukraine "On status and social protection of citizens which suffered owing to Chernobyl accident" (hereinafter – the Law) provides that persons who were living (live) or permanently worked (work) in the zone of intensified radiological control, provided that they as of 1 January 1993 has lived or worked in the area for at least 4 years are eligible for appointment retirement pension with reduction of pension age. So, persons who resided or worked constantly in the area since the accident (26.04.1986) to July 31, 1986, regardless of the time of stay or work in this period is the initial value to reduce the retirement age by 2 years and an additional 1 year after 3 years of living or working in this area, but not more than 5 years. Persons who were living (live) or permanently worked (work) in the specified area after July 31, 1986, the retirement age is reduced by 1 year over 3 years living or working in this area, but not more than 5 years. At the same time, victims of Chernobyl disaster, spent on works with harmful and severe conditions of work according to the List No. 2, if such work experience for males was 12 years and 6 months or more, women – 10 years or more, the age of retirement reduced by one year. Calculation and payment of pensions to persons affected by the Chernobyl accident, carried out according to the Law of Ukraine "On compulsory state pension insurance". The procedure for the submission and processing of documents for appointment (recalculation) of pensions according to the Law of Ukraine "On compulsory state pension insurance", approved by resolution of the Board of the Pension Fund of Ukraine ¹22-1 of 25.11.2005, provided that the application for the granting of old-age pension under article 55 of the Law, in particular, to the victims owing to accident on the Chernobyl NPP, the following documents: – the identity of the victim from the Chernobyl disaster; – information on periods of residence (work) in the territories of radioactive pollution, issued by the local authorities (companies, institutions, organizations). To confirm the period of work with harmful working conditions and List No. 2 were adopted clarifying the reference of enterprises, institutions, organizations or their successors.
