In the Ternopil region continues regional conference on decentralization
For local communities to achieve sustainable development through decentralization, discussed at a conference "a Wealthy community is the basis of development of regions" in the city of Ternopil. The joint project EU/UNDP "Local development, oriented on colossus" brought together all participants in the decentralization process – governments, international donors and the United territorial community. Welcoming participants of the Games, OOO, Deputy Chairman of the Ternopil regional state administration said: "For us it is a landmark conference that is in the Ternopil region. We are one of the most advanced in this process. The people want change, life improvement, want to develop dynamically and to move forward. already created 26 GSS in the region, and plans to create another 11. Thanks to the financial decentralization of the budgets of the GSS have considerable fulfillment. The village came alive. Built kindergartens, schools, roads, Centres, cooperatives. We hope for further cooperation with our partners from the EU and UNDP in this direction." During the conference it was presented a manual on decentralization, which contains practical exercises and examples of the implementation of the decentralization reform. According to the results of the conference will be worked out joint recommendations for the preparation and implementation of the strategic plans of the combined communities, improving service delivery mechanisms in the communities, strengthening their financial viability, further development of joint initiatives of the government, donors and communities in order to accelerate movement of the latter to European standards.
