October 31, Vinnytsia public organization of young people with disabilities "Harmony" based on his rehabilitation center held a "round table" entitled "Active youth with disabilities through the lens of accessibility". The event was held in the framework of the project "Integration of young people with functional limitations in society, "the goal – together!" together with Vinnytsya city public organization "Social vector" with the support of the Ministry of youth and sport and the Department for social and youth policy of the regional state administration. The project started in August this year, aimed at improving social adaptation, recovery, morale and social functionality of youth with disabilities through the development of creative abilities, development of active life position for a successful integration into society. "We have to care about creating affordable living environments for all, without exception, not only for people with disabilities", – said the Chairman of public organization "Harmony" Raisa Panasyuk. "So, in developing and implementing various local, regional and state programs accessibility issues must be taken into account," she added. According to the Chairman of YPO "Social vector" Eugene Kowalski, Vinnitsa region is at the forefront of the regions of Ukraine on architectural and information accessibility, but that doesn't mean you have to stop there. Responsible for public relations and rehabilitation center "Harmony" Suzanne Zhukovskaya told about the project "Mad traveler", which is implemented with the support of Department of information activities and public relations of the regional state administration and partially funded by the regional budget. The project aimed at meeting the needs of people with disabilities in the spiritual development, for monitoring the availability of establishments (cafes, gas stations, etc.), encountered on the road travelers club "Mad traveler." According to the results of the "round table" recommendations will be developed for local, regional and national importance for improving accessibility for people with disabilities. So, from next week all the developments in the meeting will be transferred to specialized institutions for further implementation.
