The project is implemented with the support of the regional state administration and partially funded by the regional budget. Also as an expert in the work participate senior researcher at the Institute of history of Ukraine National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Tatiana Pastushenko. "There should be a history we don't know," said the rector vgpu them. Kotsyubinsky Natalya Lazarenko. "The themes of the destruction of the civilian population is extremely tragic and scary, but it is also history and we must do everything in order to know it. Because, as they say, without the knowledge of the past have no future," she added. According to Tatyana Pastushenko, the project is relevant because this topic is not sufficiently covered in the national historiography. "Our work will consist of several parts. It will first set up two working groups, one of which will work for the national archive documents relating to destroyed mentally ill and prisoners of war during the war, while the other will study the same documentary sources in Germany that relate to our city. The results of the study will be developed a specialized Museum display according to European standards based on German experience, and also created several print materials for their further use in the Museum institutions of the region and educational institutions during the study of the history of Ukraine", – said Taisa Gaida. The selection of the best students of 1-3 courses will be conducted on the basis of a motivation letter "Why I will be interested to participate in this project?" For archival work in Germany, then preference will be given to students who speak German. This selection of students is not accidental, since the planned project duration is 2 to 3 years. "there is a transition from the struggle for historical memory to preserve the culture of memory, which will be done upon completion of the implementation of our joint project," said Jeanne Keberlein. Recall that the public organization "national independence." was one of 12 winners of the competition to determine the programs developed by institutions of civil society, which provides financial support in 2016 at the expense of means of the regional budget, which is traditionally held every year by the Department of information activities and communications with the public RSA.
