In Chernivtsi region alcohol and the steering wheel don't mix
November 17, assisted by the Chief of service centre of the Ministry of internal Affairs and the initiative on Ukrainian ' unity day took place the presentation of the training ‘Experience in security”, which is focused on prevention of driving vehicles in a state of alcoholic SP’intoxication. Soon the training will include the training program of the top 40 schools and specialized educational institutions with the purpose of increase of responsibility among citizens who are planning to become drivers. “For service centers of the Ministry of interior, it is important to support all social initiatives that will train drivers not only the traffic rules, but also to increase the social responsibility. Presents training and glasses provide an opportunity to show the person how irresponsible to get behind the wheel in a condition of alcoholic SP’intoxication. Driving schools in which will be given study materials is prepared annually about 60 thousand drivers. By the way, at the Main service center of the Ministry of interior, we have created an interactive map that contains information about the closest location of institution for the training of drivers who are accredited. In the future we plan to create a rating of driving schools — it will suspend the activities of those schools that do not meet the qualification requirements” — said the head of the Main service centre of the Ministry of internal Affairs Vladislav Crickley. In Ukraine, every year more than 3,200 people are injured in accidents, floor’connected with driving while intoxicated. About 400 people receive injuries incompatible with life. Accordingly, every 8 hours one person receives fatal injuries caused by drunk drivers. Chairman of the Ukrainian about the’unity of the theory is Ilya sherbinin presented training materials to be used in the training programme and special glasses the ‘Drunk Busters Goggles”, simulating the effect of alcohol on human behavior and help to understand and avoid the risks of driving while intoxicated. He also noted that for Ukraine this will be the first experience, but today with the educational purpose of such tool used by professionals in more than 60 countries around the world. Alex Beloshitskiy, first Deputy head of patrol police Department of Ukraine added: “the Problem of drinking and driving is not only solved regulatory agencies and the patrol police. It requires a comprehensive solution and about’unity of effort. Therefore, the emphasis on responsibility on the roads while training drivers is in this sense an important role”.
