In Zhytomyr region Svyato-Mikhailovsky Cathedral celebrates 160th anniversary
21 November, on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the founding of St Michael's Cathedral took place on the Cathedral of the Archangel of God Michael and the other bodiless powers. The divine Liturgy was conducted by the Archbishop of Zhytomyr and Ovruch Izyaslav in concelebration of bishops and clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate, started at 10.00. The service was attended by Deputy Chairman of regional state administration Yaroslav Laguta and mayor Sergei Suhomlin. — — "Have great honor to congratulate all of us with the holidays. This is the Day of St. Michael, and 160 years since the Foundation of the temple, as well as the Day of Dignity and Freedom. This coincidence is not accidental, that in Kiev, St. Michael's monastery sheltered the first victims of the Maidan.
