In the Vinnytsia region the state compensates 500 million UAH on medicines for the population from cardiovascular disease,type II diabetes, and bronchial asthma
"the price of medicines of foreign production in Ukraine is much higher than in other countries, particularly neighbouring. Sometimes we are more expensive several times. Therefore, the government sets maximum prices for medicines for cardiovascular diseases, type II diabetes, and bronchial asthma on the level of prices in five neighbor countries," - commented the initiative of the Government Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleksandr Saenko. "To cure these diseases, we introduce also the refunds due to the state and laid it to 500 million hryvnia in the state budget for next year. According to our estimates, 80-90% of people with these diseases, take advantage of the opportunity to receive medicines free of charge. This is about 7-8 million people. We expect that our decisions will make treatment more accessible, people will increasingly turn to the doctor, and thus will decrease the morbidity and mortality from these diseases, and the number of complications, increase the level of early diagnosis of diseases. To treat, e.g., hypertension on an outpatient basis is much simpler and cheaper than in the hospital, not to mention the stroke and its consequences" - stressed Alexander Saenko. Now some people starts to scare people by the fact that as a result of the decisions of the government of the drug will disappear from pharmacies. "I want to reassure all of the prerequisites for the shortage of medicines there. First, there will be serious control of the state, the State service on medicinal products to pharmacists and pharmacy network adhere to established requirements regarding the prices of drugs and their availability in pharmacies. Second, the sales volume of medicines in Ukraine is quite large. We're not talking about the artificial reduction of prices to a level that does not allow foreign companies to compete and to earn income, we are talking about limiting their profits. The level of prices for drugs in Ukraine is not higher than the prices in the neighbouring countries. There is no reason why drugs in Ukraine should cost twice as expensive than for example in Poland or Latvia. And pharmaceutical companies that come to our market, will have the same conditions as in the markets of other countries", - said the Minister.
