The level of preservation of historical and urban environment of Chernivtsi recognized as one of the best in Ukraine

Chernivtsi successfully held the scientific-practical seminar "Experience and prospects of management of objects of UNESCO world heritage and their buffer (protection) zones". Co-organizers were the Odessa and Chernivtsi city Council, CHERNIVTSI national University im. Of Handicrafts and the Ukrainian national Committee of International Council on monuments and sites (ICOMOS). Participants congratulated Chernivtsi mayor Alex Kaspruk, Consul General of Romania in Chernivtsi Eleanor Moldovans, honorary Consul of Austria in Chernivtsi Sergei Osachuk, prorector on scientific pedagogical work, CHERNIVTSI national University Tamara Marusyk and the President of the UNC ikomos Nicholas Hyde. Experts of the UNESCO cities of Kiev, Lviv, Odessa, Chernivtsi, Kamianets-Podilskyi presented informative reports, discussed priority challenges for the custodians of the historic environment and management of monuments of World importance. Noted high activity of local governments of historic cities in preserving the cultural heritage, the lack of clear legislative regulation of the industry and the proper level of preservation of historical and urban environment of Chernivtsi as one of the best experiences in Ukraine. Final resolution of the seminar will be sent to the Central bodies of Executive power. This was reported in the Chernivtsi city Council
