On the appeal of Prosecutor's office of Volyn region partially changed the sentence of the Vladimir-Volyn city court on September 12 this year, which 42-year-old resident Lobachevskogo district, for committing the attempt on the smuggling of cultural property sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment with establishment of 2-year probationary period. As reported, this individual tried using custom post "ustilug" to export out of Ukraine concealing from customs control, 28 vintage books Dating back to the XVII-VIII centuries, however, was exposed by police officers. 6 of these books experts estimated in the sum over 200 thousand hryvnias, to set the cost of the other failed in connection’connection with their exceptional rarity. According to the verdict of the court of first instance, historical and cultural value confiscated and transferred to the Volyn regional Museum. At the same time, the destiny of material evidences - car brand “MERCEDES-BENZ” model "VITO" in a constructive capacities which the smuggler hid the books, it was decided to return to the accused. The Prosecutor, having disagreed with such decision of the court, made the appeal.
