14 Dec Chernigov honoring the participants of liquidation of consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant
Chernihiv city Council under the leadership of Deputy mayor-managing Affairs of Executive Committee Sergey Fesenko meeting of organizing Committee on preparation and celebration of the Day honoring the participants of liquidation of consequences of Chernobyl accident. The event was attended by the heads of relevant departments of the Chernihiv city Council, regional state administration and the representatives of the NGO "Union of invalids of Chernobyl". During the meeting agreed on the main issues of the plan of events, which introduced Sergey Fesenko. The celebration will take place on December 14 near the memorial sign "Heroes of Chernobyl" on the Alley of Heroes in the regional center, beginning at 11.00. The Deputy of the mayor has instructed all relevant agencies to make the necessary arrangements for celebrations at the appropriate organizational level. Special attention was paid to the establishment of the state symbols, monuments of landscaping, grounds maintenance and ensuring a high level of law and order during the event. On this day, 14 December 1986, was completed the construction of the sarcophagus – a huge shelter over the fourth power.
