13 December, with the aim of enhancing mutual relations and discuss prospects for cooperation, Vinnytsia oblast was visited by the extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Finland in Ukraine Mr. Juha Virtanen. In the regional state administration took place the meeting of Chairman of regional state administration Valery Cows and Vinnytsia city mayor Sergey Morgunov Mr. Virtanen and heads of industrial firms with Finnish capital, which cooperate with the Ukrainian business. Addressing the distinguished guests, Mr Cow said that Vinnitsa region is subject to increased attention, and thus familiarized the diplomats with the economic potential of the region. "In the current very difficult conditions our region is one of the leaders of economic development in a whole range of issues. Traditionally,the lion's share is in agriculture and the food industry. After the 2008 crisis, we have managed to achieve positive trends in such markets as Southeast Asia, China, India and to add dynamics to local businesses operating in these markets. Due to the formation of the European system of competition, transparency in decision-making, we managed to implement some very powerful projects in the field of processing of agricultural products. Today it has become the locomotive for economic growth". The head of the region also noted that the government aims to diversify the economy of the region: "We work in different ways to create new jobs in all types of businesses: industrial,services and infrastructure. Now conducted a number of negotiations with representatives of Japanese business circles. From our side we guarantee some of the best conditions of administrative support of projects",- assured Valery Cow. Given the slight weakening in recent years economic relations of Ukraine and the Republic of Finland, the decrease in the volume of exports and imports, the Chairman of regional state administration expressed the belief that the issue of further development of cooperation to work is over what. "We see a lot of opportunities to explore the potential of our cooperation. Finland is a very creative country: we are improving IT-technology, energy efficiency and educational projects. By the way, in the field of education, our countries are already cooperating at the level of ministries," - said Mr. Ambassador. He thanked for the warm welcome and thorough acquaintance with the economic situation in the Vinnytsia region, and expressed confidence in the necessity of activating further cooperation. The diplomat from Finland gave the floor to the Chairman of the Finnish business group, a Director of the company "Telko Ukraine" Sergey Somno: "I represent the Association of Finnish business in Ukraine, which has about 30 diverse companies, energy, chemical business, engineering and so on,- he said,- I am Very glad to visit the winery is innovative in many respects the city, and together with his colleagues to seek ways of cooperation with the business community of the region". The participants – heads of companies belonging to the Finnish business group, briefly presented the business opportunities of their companies and exchanged contact information.
