The Prosecutor's office of Volyn performs tasks in the field of international cooperation
in exercising the powers to perform the tasks of international cooperation during criminal proceedings from the beginning of 2016, the Prosecutor's office organized and fulfilled 75 requests from the competent foreign authorities (court, Prosecutor's office and the police) on the provision of legal assistance in criminal matters, during which militiamen handed procedural documents, conducted interrogations, searches, and collected samples for expert research, collected the necessary information and required documents. Requests the Commission proceedings were received this year from 9 countries of Europe and Asia. Most of them came from the Republic of Belarus (26) and Poland (25). The Prosecutor's office of Volyn in 2016 sent abroad 15 requests for legal assistance in criminal proceedings, pre-trial investigation, which carry out investigative bodies of the region. In addition, the Prosecutor's office this year made a decision about adopting from the competent authorities of the Republic of Poland 9 criminal proceedings on the facts of Commission by citizens of Ukraine criminal offences abroad. Also, the Prosecutor's office of the extradition check conducted and measures taken for the results to the competent authorities of foreign States for criminal prosecution of 3 persons who committed crimes on the territory of other States (Belarus and Moldova), and 1 person is waiting for the completion of extradition procedures (Republic of Azerbaijan). The requirement of law enforcement agencies in Ukraine this year, according to criminal responsibility 2 persons who were detained on the territory of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. In particular, at the request of the Prosecutor's office of Volyn region of the Russian Federation extradited for prosecution of the citizen of Ukraine who in the region have made on preliminary arrangement by group of persons, robbery, extortion, unlawful taking of a vehicle and illegally deprived of the wishes of the victim. Now pre-judicial investigation in this criminal proceedings are completed and the indictment against a citizen is directed to court for consideration in essence. The Prosecutor's office will continue to take measures to respect the principles and norms of international law in the field of international cooperation during criminal proceedings.
