In the Chernigov city Council discussed a draft agreement about the organization of passenger transport
Yesterday, December 28, Chernihiv city Council held a meeting of the working group on approval of the contract on organization of passenger transportation on city bus routes for General use. The meeting was held with the participation of Deputy of the mayor Alexander Lomako, who is the Chairman of the working group, the head of Department of transport and communications of the city Council Alexander Belsky and carriers, who have won the competition for the maintenance of all city bus routes for General use in the city of Chernihiv. This competition was held on 23 December in the city Council. The preparation for its implementation was conducted throughout the year and the ultimate goal of the transition to the new rules, which will force carriers to upgrade transport and greater discipline in the provision of services. All carriers three months prior to the competition had been warned about the termination of contracts and the prospect of new competition, they had to update their fleet and had also been informed about the development of contracts with the new requirements. On this day the working group met to discuss the draft of the agreement, to make suggestions and edits to it. Approved a contract till January 10 will be signed by all carriers. As previously reported, the results of the competition, the right for five years to carry passengers by public transport in Chernihiv received 10 enterprises. The new agreements provide, in particular, equipping all buses with GPS monitoring in order to facilitate control over the work of carriers, and installation of an automated system of cashless payment for the fare. Deputy mayor Oleksandr Lomako, in closing the meeting, noted that all stipulated penalties for failure to comply with the terms of the contract will, if necessary, revised to make them as objective as possible, especially when providing services of passenger transportation in the city will improve. He also noted that the contract will be terminated only with a systematic violators and if not fulfilled approved the terms of the contract.
