Zhytomyr region has risen by 15 places in the ranking by the index of industrial production
According to the Department of industry, infrastructure development and tourism regional state administration, in January-November, 2016 the index of industrial production in the region amounted to 106.2% to the corresponding last year period. In January of this year, the rate was 84,8%. The rate of growth of industrial production the region took the 23 position in the national rating of Ukraine. For 2016 the growth of industrial production has enabled the region to overcome 15 ratings. And the pace of industrial production growth in the Zhytomyr region takes the 8th position in the national ranking in Ukraine. Roman Krisuk, head of industry, infrastructure and tourism administration, noted that the mining and quarrying industrial production index in January-November 2016 rose to 111,2%, when in January amounted to only 41.1 percent. In processing industry industrial production index in January - November 2016 amounted to 102.8%. Among processing industries the growth has occurred in the following industries: * manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations an increase of 23.5%; * mechanical engineering – production increased by 10.5%; * production of rubber and plastic products and other nonmetallic products – by 5.5% (due to the increase in the production of decorative stone, construction and products by 33.0%).
