Ternopil has signed a Memorandum on the measurement of the dynamics of the development of the city in the "City Progress Index"
Ternopil became the first city in Western Ukraine, which signed a Memorandum of intent for cooperation on the measurement of the dynamics of city development in the framework of the project “City Progress Index”. The mayor Sergey Nadal said that this Memorandum confirms that the Ternopil ready to join the comprehensive credit rating monitoring changes in the level of quality of life in cities, investment attractiveness and institutional capacity of municipalities. Thus, our city will join the 20 “pilot cities”, which will be held about the’objective external assessment of the dynamics of urban development. The very rating of cities under the project will be launched in 2017. “the Consortium, which includes experts, will develop specific methodology to measure each indicator. Further, roughly in late spring - early summer will be the signing of specific agreements with a clear list of indicators and data that need to provide city», - said Chairman of the Board of the Agency “the Joint effort” Ruslan Rokhov, As conceived by the initiators, the results of monitoring “City Progress Index” will be presented annually at the International Congress of mayors. And “winners” – cities that will occupy the first position in the ranking, that is, to demonstrate the highest dynamics of development, will receive grants from a specially created Fund to support local development that the Agency “the Joint effort” plans to establish next year. Synopsis: for the First time the concept of “City Progress Index” was provided by the Agency “the Joint effort” at the International Congress of mayors.
