Main priority of the personnel policy of the Armed forces of Ukraine this year should be the continuation of the process of professionalisation of the troops at the expense of quality of acquisition staff officer positions. On this during a meeting with the leadership of the Armed Forces said the chief of the General staff – chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine army General of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko. He named the priorities of quality recruitment officer positions, both upstream and at the level of bodies of military management. Must use all opportunities, in particular, the adoption of reserve officers in the officers ' service contracts and the use of courses for the accelerated training of Junior officers from among the sergeants with higher education. The entire system of selection of officers should be aimed at ensuring, first and foremost, combat troops. "We need to systematize information about reserve officers, able to perform military service. In particular, this applies to people who have not served, but have a higher education and received the military rank of reserve officers. Every year, these officer ranks get 9-10 thousand people. It is a powerful resource that should be used effectively", – said the Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He stressed that the Armed Forces not only require a sufficient number of qualified people, but the best professionals, able to take responsibility and look for solutions to complex problems, to show humanity in relation to subordinates. "Many of our officers are trained abroad. Our task is to place them in positions where they will benefit the most. Their experience is very necessary for the Armed Forces. We have enough good players, but this is not enough, because we lack real leaders. All personnel work should be focused on finding leaders and develop leadership qualities. In the leading countries that are our partners, the concept of "officer" and "leader" are always identical," – said chief of General staff – chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
