Zhytomyr ready to lower air temperature
In connection with the projected lowering of the temperature in the Zhytomyr region, on 5 January, a meeting of the operational headquarters of the regional Commission on questions tekhnogenno-ecological safety and emergency situations under the guidance of the Chairman of regional state administration Igor Gundicha. Representatives of relevant departments and services discussed the readiness of the region for rapid response to potential emergency situations, hazardous events associated with the complication of traffic, communication and energy supply of settlements, prevention of death due to hypothermia. Igor Gundich stressed the need for coordination of all services and controls in the heating sector, provide transportation and rapid emergency response. In the Zhytomyr region in constant readiness every day is about 60 units of special fire equipment. In the case of aggravation of the situation may involve the same number of buses. To ensure proper travel on the roads of the region are ready 260 pieces of equipment, procured the required quantity of the mixture for sprinkling roads. In addition, the Office of DSNS in Zhytomyr region, if necessary, will provide the deployment of additional points of heating of the population to assist in a period of substantial temperature drop of air.
