One of the key objectives for 2017 - higher wages for Ukrainians

One of the key tasks of the Government in 2017 – providing high wages for Ukrainians and development of the national economy. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman, opening a Government meeting on Wednesday. "Our task is the question of higher wages for Ukrainians. This is our priority. The minimum wage increased twice, should be higher and the average wage. I believe that our policy of adequate remuneration of the Ukrainians in particular will contribute to the positive development of the national economy", – said Vladimir Groisman. The Prime Minister urged the Ministry to keep the priority of higher wages for Ukrainians in the focus of attention for 2017. "Our goal for 2017 in the work of each Ministry, each Minister – economic development and establishing a framework for salary increases for Ukrainians, whatever sphere it is not concerned," he said. The head of the Government put before the ministries the task to establish clear priorities, define action plan and every day to focus together with the Parliament and the coalition to ensure efficient decision-making. "Our task is economic development, creating jobs, getting people normal wages, payment of fair taxes and the redistribution of these taxes from the increase of social standards. So have to work the formula. I am convinced that we have laid all the foundations for this formula worked successfully", – said Vladimir Groisman. According to him, the efforts of the Government in 2016, helped to stabilize the situation and restore economic growth. This growth should feel the people, stressed the Prime Minister. The government has provided a number of conditions that will give the opportunity to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in many areas, he said. So, from 2017 increased two times the minimum wage from 1600 to 3200 UAH. "This is the first steps that we are taking to restore fairness to the working people of Ukraine", – he said. There was also increased single tariff category, which is the basis for the calculation of wages in the public sector, and from January 1 it is equal to 1600 UAH. Decisions have also helped to increase teachers ' salaries to 50% to 30% – physicians, an average of 2 thousand UAH to increase wages for Ukrainian rescuers, and secure the necessary payments to other areas, said the Prime Minister. "I Want to confirm and to assure Ukrainian citizens that the Government of Ukraine, I personally as Prime Minister, in 2017 will do everything we can to make you feel positive changes in your life. For us, this is problem number 1. Not statistics, nor any other figures, only the understanding of how people live, what they have a problem and how to help people to solve these problems, and most importantly – do Government policies so that these problems do not arise in the future", – stressed the Head of Government.
