In 2016, Zhytomyr had the best for years of independence the indicators in the agro-industrial sector
January 17, in the regional state administration summed up the results of activities of agricultural industry in the region for the year 2016. The meeting was attended by Chairman of Zhytomyr regional Council Vladimir Shirma, Deputy of the regional Council Irina Kosciuszko, the head of the Department of agriculture of regional state administration Ruslan kyryliuk, heads of regional institutions, organizations and chiefs of managements of agroindustrial development of regional state administrations. "In 2016 the development of the industry of agricultural production was accompanied by production growth gross agricultural production. According to preliminary estimates, it grew by 15.7% and Zhytomyr ranked in the national ranking 3rd place", – said Ruslan Kyrylyuk. We will remind, the Chairman of regional state administration called the high rating of the venue region credit 24 th team in the industry of agriculture, well organized work. Positive dynamics is observed in the sectors of crop and livestock production: * crop -123,2% (in Ukraine – 105,3%); * animal – 101,7% (in Ukraine – 97%). Overall in 2016 were collected 2 76,9 million tons of grain, 617 thousand more than last year. "This is the best performance in the industry over the past 3 years and in General over the period of Ukraine's independence. It's not only performance indicators, but significant financial replenishment of the enterprises and, consequently, the oblast budget", – said Ruslan Kyrylyuk. Appropriate attention is paid to the crop in 2017. In all categories of farms sowed winter crops for grain almost 156 thousand hectares, which is 17.4 thousand more than last year. Recall that the crops of Zhytomyr region will not suffer from low temperatures. In addition, in the field of infrastructure for the storage of grain, potatoes, fruit and vegetables. The brand of our region becomes the berry-growing and fruit-growing and export. Priority for 2017 in crop production is the formation of agricultural holdings and private enterprises. As for the livestock industry – there have been positive indicators: * increased the number of cattle by 10.2% and poultry by 4.5%; * decreased the number of cows by 2.2% and of pigs by 12.4; Number of cattle in all categories of farms of the Zhytomyr region takes the 7th place, cows – 6, dairy – 4 place among regions of Ukraine.
