Under this name in the framework of the celebration in Vinnytsia oblast of the Ukrainian Unity Day, the 98th anniversary of the Act of Connection and the 99th anniversary of the battle of Kruty, January 18, at Vinnytsia Academy of continuing education held a meeting "round table", conducted jointly by the Department of information activities and communication of Vinnytsia regional state administration and the Academy of continuing education. The meeting was attended by Deputy Directors of schools on educational work and teachers of public disciplines, public activists of the region. At the beginning of the session, the moderator of the event, the Director of the Department of information activities and public relations of the regional state administration Svetlana Vasilyuk in his introductory remarks, noted the historic importance of the battle of Kruty, which became a symbol of patriotism and sacrifice in the struggle for an independent Ukraine. The Ukrainians should always remember the feat of those who at various times gave their lives fought for its independence. The participants of the meeting honored their memory with a minute of silence. In the reports of the head of the research Department at the regional Museum of Larissa, p. and doctor of historical Sciences, Director of the State archive of Vinnytsia oblast Yuri Laguna were identified archival sources, the historical works of documentary filmmakers and contemporaries of the events concerning the liberation of the temporarily occupied territories, the consolidation of society for the development of processes of state creation and independence of Ukraine. On the preconditions, causes and consequences of the tragedy of Kruty, as well as the importance of these events in the context of current events in Eastern Ukraine, said the candidate of historical Sciences, associate Professor of historical faculty of Donetsk national University. The participants also watched a documentary about the fate of one of the participants of those events Valentine Atamanskogo, his importance in the history of Vinnytsia region and the state.
