Chernigov: Small grants to support cultural and educational projects from the Embassy of the USA
Starts the contest for the Program "Small grants to support cultural and educational projects" for 2016-2017, initiated by the U.S. Embassy in Kiev. The grants will be awarded to Ukrainian and American organizations with the status of non-governmental and nonprofit, and individuals. The maximum grant amount - $ 8,000. The programme aims to highlight ties between the United States and Ukraine to strengthen bilateral relations and understanding between people of the two countries through cultural, artistic and educational programs. The objectives of the programme In 2017, the United States and Ukraine will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Over the next year, the U.S. Embassy plans to hold a series of cultural and educational events, aimed to celebrate the eventful history of cooperation between the peoples of the two countries, to highlight the important joint success stories, and provide an opportunity for the peoples of the two countries to present how they will work together over the next 25 years for the development, strengthening and expansion of relations between the USA and Ukraine. Themes of projects: - The program envisages the possibility of the following projects: Projects in the field of performing and fine arts related to music, dance, literature, cinema, photography, video. - Projects involving the creation of art exhibitions (painting, sculpture, photography, artifacts, cartoons, and other similar projects). - Translations of books by American authors in Ukrainian language, in paper or electronic formats. - Lectures or round tables with the participation of American experts in the field of music, dance, literature, film, photography and video. - Lectures or round tables with the participation of American experts in the field of the history of diplomacy, politics, economy, democratic and economic development, good governance, entrepreneurship and innovation. - Lectures and round tables with participation of American experts on issues of human trafficking, integration of displaced persons and provision of social services. Priority will be given to the following projects: - Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Ukraine. Projects that attract audiences and participants from Eastern and Western Ukraine. Projects that attract audiences and participants from the East of Ukraine and Crimea.
