Resident of Novovolynsk punished for separatist calls
Listening to the arguments of prosecutors, Novovolynsk city court on 19 January 2017 acknowledged 33-year-old volynyanin guilty of infringement of territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine and the violation of equality of citizens depending on their ethnicity (criminal offences under article 110 and 161 of the Criminal code of Ukraine). These crimes are a resident of Novovolynsk came, spreading in social networks materials with appeals to change of borders of the territory and the state border of Ukraine, incitement of national enmity and hatred, humiliation of national honor and dignity. At trial defendant guilty to the crime fully acknowledged and sincerely repented. According to the court verdict, the man was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment with establishment of a three-year probationary period.
