we Invite you to be active members of the public and the media. To your attention we offer a weekly summary of relevant seminars, workshops, programs, grants and competitions. The competition for the production of multimedia packages about Ukraine The competition can be submitted by journalists individually, members of the media (printed press, radio, television or online media), production studios, which can cooperate with NGOs or think tanks, and to form a team for the project. Each candidate can apply for one, several or all packages. The project envisages the creation of 7 media packets "Ukraine plus". Each package will contain 3 to 5 of multimedia materials, depending on their complexity. They will be created using modern tools of interactive visual journalism. Materials should be interesting, understandable and present a variety of genres such as short stories, mini-documentaries, interviews with experts, quizzes and the like. Selected authors will receive grants of $ 2,000 to produce each of the multimedia package. The grant will cover the costs of production, salaries and other necessary expenses. To create multimedia packages, the authors will collaborate and establish partnerships with NGOs, experts and analytical centres, whose activities are connected with the topics of multimedia packages. Riga, 15, 04112 EU delegation announces the 17th session of the EU Study Days (euroschool) The European Union delegation in Ukraine in cooperation with Ukrainian educational center of reforms announced on the recruitment of participants to the seventeenth session of EU Study Days in Ukraine. The session will take place on 16 – 19 February 2017 in the winery, participation in which invited participants from all regions of Ukraine. Euroschool is a unique opportunity for Ukrainian students and graduates to learn more about the European Union. Who can participate? Participation is open to students (last year students) and graduates of Ukrainian UNIVERSITIES (who graduated no more than three years ago) from all regions of Ukraine. Summer volunteer projects in Poland and Germany When: from 01.09. 2017 at 31.08. 2018; Where: in public organizations, museums and educational centers of Poland and Germany; Who can participate: young people aged 18 to 30 years; The deadline for submission of documents: until 31.01. 2017 Summer volunteer projects have different themes – social, historical, cultural and educational. During the year, the volunteers will be working in the selected project in one of the organizations of Poland, or Germany. Participants will receive: tickets to the road to the city, which will host the project and back upon its completion; free annual visa; insurance; housing; free transportation around the city; the money for food and pocket that will receive the participants on a monthly basis in the amount of 800 z? in Poland and ˆ 350 in Germany; paid vacation; in Poland language courses. The selection of participants is competitive. Project participants will receive free theoretical and practical knowledge from leading experts of the Ukrainian and European media, politicians, diplomats and experts. Weekly lectures and practical classes, the course lasts for 4 months. During the workshop, participants will gain the skills of gathering and analysing information, finding information from open sources (OSINT) and the establishment of communications with diplomats and politicians, interviewing, organizing and conducting media events, Studio and many others. The selection of participants is made on a competitive basis. Summary to participate in the contest can submit the students of 3-5 courses of humanitarian and socio-economic disciplines (philosophical, historical, cultural, journalistic faculty) and young journalists up to the age of 25 years. Production training for journalists from print and online media From 30 January to 1 February 2017 program, "Open Media Hub" organizes in Kyiv production training for journalists from print and online publications. The planned three-day training course that focuses on the production of news and is designed to expand the skills of journalists from print and online media. Thematically, the course will touch on topical issues and events related to the relations Ukraine-EU, tools to create interesting stories, as well as means of strengthening institutional and individual capacity of journalists for the quality of lighting present and the prospects of relations Ukraine-EU. Training will be done by the consultant of the project "Open Media Hub" guy Degen, and we will focus on the following sectors: * Advanced tools for journalistic research * Advanced tools to visualize stories * Practical work with relevant online tools for interactive report * Audio, video and infographics * Multi-platform journalism * Data journalism * Team work during the data collection and processing * Use trusted sources to find information about the EU * Processing of content that users create * Effective use of social media etcD. Conditions of participation To participate in the training on a competitive basis to invited journalists and managers of online and print publications from all regions of Ukraine. Deadline - 6 March 2017 The aim of the competition is the creation and development of regional media for coverage of issues related to relations between Ukraine and the European Union, the introduction of SA, other commitments of Ukraine to the EU to inform the society about the essence of European integration and European values and to promote reform in the regional dimension, for leading regional media financial ability for continuous illumination the European theme, promoting public discussion and raising public awareness on topics related to the EU at local, regional and interregional levels. It is expected that the project implementation will contribute to raising the awareness of media executives and leading journalists on the relationship between the EU and Ukraine in the reform process, supported by the EU. The competition priority is given to mass media, which operate outside the capital. Requirements to participants of competition To participate in the competition are invited to the media that: • officially registered as a legal entity in Ukraine is not less than 1 year (the grant application from the PAYROLL are not accepted); • have at least year, preferably three years experience; • have experience of publications on the subject of the proposed project; • have a constant audience of one or several regions of Ukraine (except Kyiv); • have the ability to implement grant projects and reporting (including financial reporting). In the competition can participate in the regional media of all types (except state): Internet, print and electronic media (radio and television), converged media that combines several types. The maximum grant size – 375 000 hryvnia (optimal project budget 200 000 – 300 000 hryvnia, depending on the type of media, less funding will give the winners an additional opportunity to apply for the extension of the project). Competition for local media in the framework of the project "Strengthening independent media in Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia" Internews-Ukraine is looking for 9 local media (including online media) that will become partners of the project "Strengthening independent media in Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia." They will participate in the preparation of a series of media packets called "Ukraine plus". Experienced coaches will advise our partner media, how to diversify your content and make it more attractive for the audience. In addition, 9 of the partner mass media will take part in training sessions on media marketing – learn how to effectively promote your media and make it popular among the audience. Each of the 9 selected local partners will receive 7 multimedia packages under the name "Ukraine plus", which they can use to enrich their own content. The project partners will have the task to adapt the multimedia packet to the interests of the communities in which they operate. Period of production/adaptation of a multimedia package will last 1 month. Materials will be published once per month starting with April 2017. Also the media partner will receive a grant in the amount of 4500 USD each. These funds will be paid in installments during project implementation. The grant will cover, but not limited to, the cost of production of wages. This was reported in the Zhytomyr regional state administration.
