Finland and Ukraine will intensify cooperation in the areas of energy efficiency,energy conservation,use of renewable sources of energy

during the official visit of the President of Petro Poroshenko to the Republic of Finland signed a Memorandum of understanding in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy and alternative fuels. The document in the presence of the Presidents of Ukraine and Finland, on the basis of bilateral negotiations, signed by Vice Prime Minister – Minister of regional development, construction and housing and communal services of Ukraine Gennadiy Zubko and Minister of foreign trade and development of Finland Kai Mykkanen. The purpose of the Memorandum is to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy efficiency, energy conservation, renewable energy and alternative fuels. In accordance with the provisions of the document, the Sides will exchange experience, information and knowledge regarding state support, best practices, production of electricity using renewable energy sources and alternative fuels, ensuring stable operation of power system with increasing share of electricity produced from renewable sources. The parties develop and implement joint programs and projects to support the organizations and companies of both countries to conduct joint seminars, courses and meetings on topics of energy efficiency, energy conservation, renewable energy and alternative fuels.
