Program of teaching swimming in schools of the city of Chernivtsi for 2016-2020, which includes coverage of the learning process 100% of younger and middle-age, will continue to be implemented. This decision was made at the 20th session of the Chernivtsi city Council of VII convocation. This program focuses on the preservation and strengthening of health, development of physical, mental qualities and physical abilities of students with knowledge and skills to safely enjoy the water, as well as providing all children equal opportunities to learn to swim. While teaching children to swim is implementing an educational, developmental and educative aims: learning the art of swimming sports ways, the development of students ' skills of using swimming exercises, obtaining basic knowledge about the importance of swimming, acquaintance with achievements of outstanding coaches and athletes-swimmers, with their performances at the Olympic games, European and world Championships. Over the course of the lessons (24 lessons) children learn the fundamentals of swimming at a depth of immersion in water, swim under water with open eyes, to breathe correctly during movement in the water and swim one of the ways the sport of swimming. Implementation and funding of the Program occur as renovation, construction, and commissioning of swimming pools in the city. At this stage (2016-2017) for the implementation of the Program of the Department of education Chernivtsi city Council used pool fitness centre "Titanium" (Avenue of Independence,111), which gave opportunity to reach students of several city schools learning swimming. The Department of education of the city Council signed a contract with LLC "BUNKS" to conduct swimming lessons.
