Chernivtsi participate in the experiment which will allow to reduce tariffs for heat

Chernivtsi became one of the pilot cities in which there is a new methodology of calculation of tariffs for a heat supply. As the Director of KP “Chernivtsiteplokomunenerho” Alexander Melenchuk, the National Commission for state regulation of energy and utilities is developing a new methodology of formation of tariffs. Calculation methods and tariffs will be implemented according to European principle. The experiment involved seven cities of Ukraine: Vinnitsa, Zhitomir, Poltava, Kharkiv, Chernivtsi, Lutsk. If the new method will be a success, this rate will apply for the whole Ukraine. “We work in such a way to reduce the tariff – says Alexander Melenchuk. – For this involved a motivational component. For example, we have 700 employees, but they are not interested to work to reduce the rate. And if the employee will work in such a way that gas consumption in houses will decrease, the savings difference will do him the award. The same applies to residents. If the house had to use five gigakalorii, and he used four, these Giga-calorie will be provided in the future as a motivational part for residents." The experiment will last until the end of 2017. According to Alexander Melenchuk, it will not work properly without upgrading the district heating network. This was reported in the Chernivtsi city Council
