In Volyn region carried out searches of the citizens involved in illegal mining of amber.
In the result of jointly planned by the office of public Prosecutor of the Volyn region and the regional Department of the SBU investigative (search) actions in the investigation of facts of illegal production, processing, and transfer abroad of amber, 9 February 2017, a number of searches at the place of residence and illegal activities of individuals involved in illegal transactions, including residents of other regions of Ukraine, arrived on the territory of Volyn region with the aim of spreading its influence in the sphere of illegal operations with amber. During the searches discovered the means of illegal production of amber (a pump, a two car "land Rover"), 8 special machine for further processing "Sunstone" maps indicating the locations of the deposits of this mineral, actually – 50 kg of amber stones. Searches are continuing, the detected objects of a criminal assault, guns and instrumentalities of offences will be seized and arrested in the manner prescribed by law.
